Fuel prices to increase again in Hungary significantly!

Fuel prices continue to increase in Hungary. Today, it grew more than ever since early summer and on Friday, we should expect additional growth. Of course, non-business vehicles being in the government’s fuel price cap scheme are not affected. Based on a recent decision of the Orbán administration, they will be able to fill their tanks for HUF 480 per litre (EUR 1.13) until the end of this year.

Holtankoljak.hu wrote this morning that the price of gasoline octane-95 grew by HUF 25 (EUR 0.059) today. That increase was HUF 18 (EUR 0.042) in the case of diesel. From today on, fuel prices are the following in Hungary:

  • gasoline 95: HUF 674.9/l (EUR 1.59/l)
  • diesel: HUF 760/l (EUR 1.79/l)

However, they say that those prices will continue to go up with HUF 7 (EUR 0.016) and HUF 16 (EUR 0.038). The reason is the price increase of the Brent-type oil. Therefore, from Friday, the following average prices will shock car owners at the Hungarian petrol stations:

  • gasoline 95: HUF 681.9/l (EUR 1.61/l)
  • diesel: HUF 776.9/l (EUR 1.83/l)

Thanks to the government’s decision, non-business vehicles with Hungarian licenses plate will be able to fill their tanks for HUF 480/l (EUR 1.13) until at least the end of this year.
